At MC Medical and Dental we now provide Telehealth video consultations for our medical patients. You can rest assured that you will be looked after in the comfort and convenience of your home or private space. Telehealth video consultations are available for all patients and especially beneficial for the vulnerable that cannot travel. We welcome all patients to try video consultations with one of our GPs.

Telehealth is revolutionising the way patients can now see a GP through means of digital communication. Instead of travelling to MC Medical, our patients can arrange anywhere in Australia a video consultation with one of our GPs. Video consultations can be arranged through smartphone, tablet, laptop and desktop communications.

If you are unsure about whether the online doctor is suitable for your needs, simply phone MC Medical in Docklands and speak to our friendly staff at no charge. Our reception team can provide further information specific to your request and the services provided by our online doctor. Phone 9988 2839.
The following fees apply for a 20-minute online telehealth consultation unless you meet the criteria for bulk billing, whereupon you may claim your fee back from Medicare. Payment is required prior to your online consultation.
Monday to Friday $60 for a 20-minute consultation.
Weekends: $80 for 20-minute consultation
New Patients and Existing Patients whose last appointment was over 12 months ago:
Please note that no Medicare rebate is available. Standard fee applies.
Bulk billing patients:
To be eligible for bulk billing the patient must be an existing patient that has seen a MC Medical provider face-to-face at least once in the previous 12 months AND also meets one or more of the following;
– People isolating themselves at home on the advice of a medical practitioner or government directive.
– At least 70 years old
– At least 50 years old and is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent
– Is pregnant
– Is a parent of a child under 12 months
– Is already under treatment for chronic health conditions or is immune compromised
Please note: if your last visit to MC Medical was over 12 months ago then you will be classified as a new patient/ private patient.
MC Medical and Dental accepts all major credit cards over the phone.
Our Telehealth video doctor service requires no special software downloads. It’s easy!
Simply click onto the HotDoc appointment schedule on the bookings page.
Select ‘Video consult’ under ‘Appointment type’
Choose your preferred GP and time.
During business hours a staff member at reception will contact you shortly after your booking to confirm your video consultation booking and arrange pre-payment.
Your Zoom video invitation link will be sent to you shortly after you book. Please allow some time for reception to contact you via phone and email you the invitation during business hours.
You can simply join the Telehealth video consultation by clicking onto the link from your smartphone, tablet or computer.
We recommend (although not required) downloading the Zoom app for your mobile or tablet device BEFORE the video consultation.

We recommend that you arrive to your video consultation 15 minutes prior to the scheduled meeting. Check that your audio and video connection is working.

Yes. A current driver’s licence or passport is required to prove your identity to the GP.
You and an MC Medical doctor will be on a digital screen at each end of the video consultation.
You will be welcomed by the doctor. You will be asked to produce a current proof of identification; passport or driver’s licence. Your MC Medical doctor will discuss the reason for the consultation. The doctor will speak with you and ask you questions in the same way as they would at a face-to-face consultation.
Please note: Your doctor may be running late for your telehealth appointment, so please stay online for an extra 30 minutes in case and the doctor will connect to your meeting as soon as possible. If no doctor has connected during that time, or if you want to double check if the doctor is running late, please call reception.
Our practice does not record telehealth video consultations and does not authorise patients to make their own separate recording of a telehealth video consultation.
Yes, e-scripts can be issued and emailed to you which can then be printed. Also, referrals, pathology request forms and medical certificates can all be emailed to the patient.
Yes, if you were issued with a prescription by our doctor, we can either email it to you or if you would like we can pass the prescription onto our pharmacy next door to have it made up for you and have the medication posted out to you. If you would like that option please let us know, payments and details can be organised with Centree Heath Pharmacy by contacting them directly on 03 9029 1034 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Cancellations are accepted up to 2 hours before the booked appointment time with a full refund of the fee provided. If you cancel within 2 hours of appointment you will still be charged for the full cost of a video consultation.
