Dr. Jenny (Fang Yu) Liu's biography in Chinese:
In her own words
Honestly, I fell into dentistry by good luck. But sometimes, that’s all it takes to get exactly where you need to be. I would describe myself as a dentist who is focused on preventative, minimally invasive dentistry and comprehensive treatment planning. My special interest would have to be in cosmetic work.
At MC Dental I aim to provide my patients from all walks of life with the best possible care.
I believe that being multi-lingual has been a real asset. Having a dentist that has the ability to communicate fluently in both Chinese Mandarin and English really helps the people in the local Chinese community.
Earning patient trust
I wish the public’s perception of dentistry was different. Too many people see dentistry as a rip-off, unnecessary for health, optional or expensive. Long story short, they don’t understand the importance of their oral health and neglect their oral hygiene.
However, it feels awesome when I can educate and turn them into good patients!
Similarly, managing anxious and dentaphobic patients can be difficult but by being really gentle you can earn their trust. This is a personally rewarding experience.
Communication is key
At MC Dental, we work together as a team to deliver the best treatment and service possible to our patients. A big part of this falls to the front desk staff.
As the face of the company, it’s their responsibility to deliver exceptional customer service. This is because it complements the fantastic treatment performed by the dentist.
The most important thing in a dental practice is the patients… and a good team.
Good patient management is when the patient understands why they need treatment. They also understand how the treatment will benefit them and what’s involved in the procedure and is happy to go ahead.
The woman outside the dental practice
My hobbies include going to the theatre, art, food and fashion. After work you’ll usually find me eating good food, enjoying the company of friends and playing with my pride and joy – my dog, Colonel (@thefriedchickencavoodle).
